Daryl Betts Sr. Obituary

Daryl Dwayne Betts, Sr., fondly known as Big D, was born on July 23, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois, the only child to his parents, Tom Betts and Osie Green. Both parents preceded him in death along with his sister, Sylvia McCall, whom also preceded him in death. Daryl received his education at Austin Career Academy, located on the Westside of Chicago, Illinois, where he graduated in 1989. Later on he would meet and marry the love of his life (in his words: “my green-eyed everything”). Daryl and Camishea met on September 15, 2006 at Percy’s Palace, and were married and became one on June 27, 2012. To this union one child was born, Daryl Betts, Jr. (DJ), and three were born into his heart. Daryl accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Mars Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clerence Stowers, Jr. Daryl was employed at Black Dog Petroleum LLC Truck Company, where he loved his job and fellow employees. They were all he talked about (but he had many jobs, never was without one). But he loved Black Dog the most. Everyone that knows Daryl knew he loves to eat, nothing was safe around him lol. Daryl was a family man and loved to do everything that family man loved to do. Daryl was the driver of the family, whenever we wanted to go somewhere, whether it was a store run, restaurant, or out of town events. Now who’s gonna drive us around. Daryl and his wife, Camishea, were a part of a marriage group called “Team Married.” They did everything together: dinner, trips, comedy shows, or just hanging out at the best hotels. He will truly be missed by this group. Daryl will also be missed by his favorite guys around the corner from his house, all of his best friends. They are all mourning. Daryl Dwayne Betts leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Camishea Edward Betts; his children: Kiara Betts, Alexis Baldwin (Roosevelt), Daryial Betts, Kyla Betts, Daryl Betts, Jr., Dalon Williams, Zanottia Edwards, and Kendall Fisher Edwards; his mother, Mary Betts, and father, William Green; grandmother, Bessie Betts; siblings, Catina Gardner, Nykia Boone (Chris), Curtis Nailor (Sparkle), Patrick Nailor (Erikka), Russel Green (Crystal), William Green III (Rhonda), Marsha Barnes (Bo), and Lynell Barnes; mother and father-in-law, Otis and Gloria Edwards; aunts, Lorraine Sumerall, Denis Jaynes (Bob), Hazel Beach (Dewayne,) Barbara Lofton (Eddie), Georgia Hall (Tim), Janis Thomas, Denis Thomas, Aunt Ruth, Mildred Crosby (Melvin), Patricia Ford, Edna Ford, Sharon Ford, Nelta White, Aunt Eloise and Jackie Ford; uncles, Calvin Ford, Gregory Curtis, and Stanley Curtis; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Grandchildren: Aedyn Baldwin and Aria. Daryl will truly be missed by all that knew him. What will we give to see him take that last drive in the truck he loved so dearly. Rest on Daryl, we loved you, but God loved you best.
